Providing pharmacy services with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People
There are several programs within and outside of Community Pharmacy Agreements related Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander pharmacy services. There are also a range of guidelines and standards that provide a framework for pharmacists to deliver culturally safe and appropriate services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, including a new Cultural Safety Sub-domain the Quality Care 2020 program. This session provides an overview of current and upcoming 7CPA programs related Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander pharmacy services, including CTG script reforms, and new DAA and QUM programs. The overview of national programs will be accompanied by pharmacy practice points and further guidance on how community pharmacies can work with their local Aboriginal community to build relationships, enhance cultural responsiveness and improve care.
